Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation Seeks K-Food Territory Expansion in Vietnam

On the 14th, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation President Kim Chun-jin met Kang Myung-il, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and explained about the low-carbon diet ‘Green Food Day’ campaign to reduce carbon emissions in the food sector. And he sought ways to expand K-Food exports along with publicizing the excellence of Korean foods, such as Korean kimchi.

Then, a meeting was held with Korean food distributors in Vietnam, such as CJ CheilJedang, Emart Vietnam, and Shark Market, to discuss the basis for K-Food consumption and ways to expand exports.

At the scene, President Kim said, "Vietnam is the No. 1 K-Food export country out of 10 ASEAN countries," adding, "Korea's exports of agricultural and fisheries products to Vietnam continue to grow at $800 million, up more than 19% from the same period last November.“

Then, he asked, “Please do your best to promote Korean food and expand exports so that K-Food can spread throughout Southeast Asia by expanding K-Food territory in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic center of Vietnam.”
